1928 Rock Island Model F 18-35
 | | Here's a photo of my Dad driving for the first time in 53 years our newly restored Rock Island model 'F' 18-35 tractor. Dad was the last one to drive it 53 years ago when he was 17 and broke the last 30 acres of our home quarter section with it. Since that time until now it sat in the bush near our farm in Waskatenau Alberta Canada. My grandfather bought this tractor used sometime in the 1940's and used it for pulling a breaking plow. It was a big job to bring her back to life, every single gear, shaft, bearing and bolt was worn out requiring machining or replacement. This Tractor is restored to its original 'Canadian Distributor' colors as sold by 'Waterloo Manufacturing Co.' the Canadian Rock Island Distributor at that time. Unlike the grey and red U.S. tractors, this one is all red with some grey accents as you can see. We also removed the original steel lugs and replaced them with rubber ones for ease of driving on hard surfaces. A BIG job but worth it! e-mail for questions markp@rotec.com Submitted by Mark Paskevich CO Rotech Research, from B. [Return to Master List] |
