I remember well when I was 5 or 6 my dad would put on the LA Case tractor to plow. He would put in third gear and set the trip hitch on the plow to unhook if I hit a big rock. All I had to do is steer and did not have to shift because it had a hand clutch. I also remember that every winter he would have to overhall that engine for the next year. I am so proud of those days and they are pleasant memories. Dad is now 82 and has lost his sight. I'm now 52 and am a supervisor in a women's prison in Texas doing substance abuse treatment. I do want to mention as I got older Dad bought a John Deere 3020 with power shift. It was like driving a car compared to the Case. Ron Raeszler, from TX, entered 2001-07-29 |
