Unloading On a Highway Ditch Bank

Unloading On a Highway Ditch Bank
I worked the Division Of Forestry for twenty four years . In 1973 we were having quite fires a long the railroad rightaway, I went out night to one these fires, at the time we used ten wheel straight job trucks with manual pull out ramps and center drop leg safety stand . When I went to back to off the transport the whole tractor and plow unit sideways to the right, the only thing holding the tractor plow unit on the tranport was two pieces of railroad iron welded in the center of the transport bed . The ditch on HWY301 were very steap, when I the whole unit slide sideways with whole right track of a IHC TD9B off the edge of the tranport . The fireplow was cocked back to the left, the dog leg stand had gave way the beaver tail of the tranport dead on the ground. Here I one track over the edge, plow jacknifed and beaver tail on the ground, also front tires off the ground . I to get in the tranport pull it a head and straight the plow . When I went to get in the transport a FL Highway PATROLMAN AND COUNTY DEPUTY told me not to try it ! But what could I do when I started it up put it gear eased out the clutch the truck eased a head front end eased down the plow came around . The track was still over edge, I got back up on the tracror held the left steering bake clutch letting the right track push the tractor plow unit off the tranport.
