The F12

The F12
I got this old girl when I was 12. I was told it would run but it didnt. The guy I bought it off of pulled it all around the barn yard while my dad stood and watched with the truck and trailer. I was in school yet and didnt get to see anything but I was told it was funny to see that JD B grunt and struggle when it was trying to pull this little Farmall. I got picked up in front of my school in a beat up old chevy 1 ton pulling this tractor. Needless to say I was made fun of for months, no one would let me forget I owned a tractor at 12 years old. But it didnt bother me one bit, I was proud to own her even if she didnt run yet. Anyways back to the tractor. She was kind of taken care of to some extent. The gas was 10 years old oil looked like it was that old as well. I got it to my Grandmas and started to clean everything up and replace what was needed. I got new gas lines, spark plugs, spark plug wires, steamed the gas tank and some other small repairs here and there. 2 years later I finally made a break through. SHE TRYED TO START! I cranked and cranked till I thought I couldnt any more. But after 5 minutes of continuos cranking I thought I had flooded it. As I was giving up she sent up a smoke ring. Then she sent up a flame skywards. I changed the spark wires around, turned it once and it fired right off, but died fast cause the carb wasnt adjusted right. I [was so excited] when it did this. I ran inside to get my dad but he was running out towards me to see what I had done. I am now 15 and she runs like a top. I cant wait till this years tractor shows to show off my prize. I curently own 5 tractors. My next tractor is a F14. It needs everything including 800 dollars worth of rear tires. But its the most fun thing I can do with my limited time after school and sports. Boy I can be long winded when I want to be. Thanks for listening, Paul
