Crankin

Crankin
The story by Anthony West of UK reminds me of the time I dragged home a home-made garden tractor! It was made from a model T Ford car. The axles had been narrowed in to fit the garden rows. It hadn't been run in 30 years, according to the owners widow! And, it had no starter, just a plate covering up the starter hole! Well, knowing much about Model T's, I set about trying to start it. In went a battery, then I poured fresh gas into the tank, set the choke, pushed down on the crank several times and 'VOILA''--I went up in the air, falling on the hood, all the while my 5 year old son was rolling on the ground, laughing until he cried! That old tractor had sat all those years just waiting for a fool to come along and try to start it. It finally ran good, but the engine went into my 1923 Roadster, where it stayed until I sold the car! I knew all about cranking those old T's and A's, but that one fooled me! Anthony West's story had me laughing really hard! Good one, Anthony West!
