Oliver 1600 1800 diesel parts

I am thinking about buying 1600 or 1800 diesel and I was investigating the availability of parts. What I found is that I can't see anyone selling new injectors for those tractors. I see injectors for other models , but not those. Are diesel engine parts still available for these Oliver tractors?

Yes, parts are out there. Maibach lists nozzles.

Didn't you just get an 1850? You were on the hunt for a while. Why now a 1600 or 1800?

The early Oliver/Waukesha American Bosch and CAV injectors both had replaceable tips. Complete injector does not need replaced like later pencil injectors do if bad. The tips only can be replaced and opening pressure reset long as the injector body is good. I just replaced tips in some 830 Case and TW 35 Ford injectors..

I would still like to get an 1850 diesel but they are getting hard to find for reasonable price of 4k o 5k The ones I do find are out west which makes it not worth it to ship it, or they are way over priced for the condition, or they really beat up with high hours. I thought an 1800 or 1600 diesel might be a affordable alternative since I have seen a few of these where I live in the northeast. I have an 1800 gas with 1950 actual hours that I bought a few years ago and it has been the best tractor I have ever owned and gave me the Oliver bug, but now I would like to get a diesel Oliver.

chas, is that 1800 hard on gas? I looked at one a few years ago before I found my 1550. I had been out in the weather a lot and to me wasn't worth he wanted. A young Amish guy who took it as payment for money owed him and he just wanted the cash. Just curious, he said "It uses a LOT of gas". It was more tractor than I really needed anyway.

I've bought an injector for my 1550 from Spenser Diesel in Iowa, they had a person answering the phone that actually knew what they were talking about. As far as the 1800 diesel I just bought one a while back a little rough looking but runs good now, didn't start it before I bought it from an estate gave $1500 for it.Funny thing I bought a NOS head for my 1650 but didn't fit my 1650 it was a two piece head, but the 1800 has that head so now I have a spare head if I need it.

My 1800 is better on gas than my JD 730. I can plow and disk a field on one tank where it took me 1 1/2 tanks with my 730.
