hydraulic help, a little long

I'm putting a JD 148 loader on my 1550. It came off a 4020 so I need to change it to open center. PO replaced the original valve with a Prince RD5200 valve from Northern but it's not one of the same valves that are currently listed in their catalog. It has the closed center plug with the return line in the OUT port. The easiest thing would be to get the open center plug and use the OUT port as power beyond and back to the tractor's system which would put full system pressure there when the remotes or lift were used. The Prince instruction sheets say to use the power beyond plug but that requires a return line to the tank from the OUT port. I can't see where that would work on the Oliver system.
So my question: is it OK to use the OUT port as power beyond? The instruction sheet is kind of vague on this.
Sorry, site will not accept pictures just now. I'll try again later.

Mike The closed center plug should just have a longer section with an oring the seals the return passage so the oil does not free flow when the valve is in neutral. You can just cut it off so the internal port is not sealed. As for the return you can easily just hook the return to where you wanting too. The only issue would be IF you used the remotes or three point at the SAME time as the loader valve there would be pressure on the return side of the loader valve. This could make it not function as both sides of the valve/cylinder would have pressure on them. This would ONLY be true while the oil flow was going to the remotes or three point.

I have seen several loader on Oliver tractors hook up this way and they were used that way for years.

The reason I asked is that in a reply to an earlier post in the JD forum someone stated that not all valves are rated for full system pressure at the return port. What I want to do is use the open center plug (or cutoff CC plug) in the BYD port making the OUT port supply the power beyond With the closed center plug out, the OUT and BYD ports are interconnected. The valve body casting is the same thickness around the IN and OUT ports so I don't think that will be an issue.
