550 pto and clutch grease hose

The 550 uses a hose to grease the throw out bearing and one for the pto release bearing. Are these a special length hose or can you just get a long hose for a grease gun and use that?? Haven't got in and cleaned everything up yet, but there is a ton of grease around the pto shaft area after the z split. Just wondering if someone used too long of a hose and it rubbed a hole in it somewhere. Chris

I used a grease gun hose on my Super 55. That's what I used on my 2-105 when I changed that to a re lube bearing too.

I replaced mine with a hose that was already made up with the fittings crimped onto the hose. For the life of me I can not recall where I got it, but it might have been Maibachs in Ohio.

Over greasing can cause a grease buildup. Some folks think if one pump is good five pumps are better. I have seen large wads of grease in bell housings and PTO's simply because they were over greased.

I moved the instrument panel off of the rear end so I could see what?s in there. Oil and grease all over the place. I can see where grease has come out of the throw out bearing. Throw out bearing turns smooth but is really stiff, turns but doesn?t spin. Trying to decide whether to replace it or leave it.
