I have a 1550 gas that I believe my father bought new in 71 or 72 It has a creeper drive. Not the hydra-powe or over under or reverso torc. I have never seen another with this. Anyone else out there have one? How rare is it?

The creeper drive was an option on all the 50 series and up I believe. Normally you see them on tractors that came from areas that had a lot of
specialty crops where ther were doing a lot of close cultivation, hand setting, ect. and needed the extra slow speeds. Not a very common option
to say the least.

. if i got the math about right a 40 is a
quarter mile so. At 1 mile per hour that
would be two rounds on a forty .

Makes sense. He(and I) did a lot of cultivating corn fields with this tractor. I'm guessing he special ordered it that way.

Yeah, first gear in creeper is definitely SLOW. We use to pick rock in the planted corn fields. My dad would put it in 1st creeper and jump off and pick rock with us(no driver on board). When it got close to the corn rows he would just kick the front tires to turn it a little and keep going. Not the safest operation. Definitely would be frowned on these days!!

oliverkid, 1600 also had the creeper drive. I have seen a 1900 with creeper drive with a parsons trencher. When I jumped on the 1600 I didn't realize it was creeper drive until I tried shifting it. The unit looks almost identical to the Hydra Power Drive.
