Planting Crew

In reality the planter goes on the 1800, the 66 goes on the drill and the 77 sits in reserve. Had the planter out of the barn yesterday to give it one last going over and run some seed through it to figure out my plates and sprockets. We just got the fertilizer wagon built over the last week or so and needed to get the hydraulic hoses on it so pulled it around with the 77 so we could set it up and measure them out. Thought it made a cool pic with both the fleetlines like that. Makes me wish even more that I would have been born in a time when that would have been a common site. Anyway, now it just needs to quit raining and going below freezing at night so the doggone ground will warm up.

That is a cool pic! You can't tell was taken in 2018. Even though the temps are comming up some finally around here there is still snow in the fields. Your lucky to be getting planter ready. It will probably be June before most corn gets in the ground around here... Lol

Don't let the sun fool you. We are at least 2 weeks out yet in most areas except the sand ground. Keep getting rain and it keeps getting cold for 2 or 3 day runs so the heavy ground is refusing to break the 50 degree mark yet. It's ok though, we are going to be about 3 weeks past our first corn in date before anybody puts a planter in the ground. Gonna have to do something quick though or it may be the 2 weeks into May before the ground warms up. The no till guys are going to be hurting this year.
