Getting shocked from 8N ignition system

Hi yall,

I'm trying to get my 8N running smoothly. It is a 12v side distributor system. There have been some finicky things going on with the ignition system while trying to get it running. I've got it running now, but it seems to be hitting and missing.
In order to get it running I changed:
-condenser (wire was loose)
-rotor
-distributor cap
-plugs
-ignition coil
-points
Since changing these parts and being in and out this engine area working I've noticed some strange arcing (sparks) and if I get close to just about any of these components while the engine is turning over or running I get shocked, plug wires, distributor cap, coil, etc. At some point I noticed arcing from the ignition coil to the coil wire, and even a couple hits from the coil to the gas tank right above it. I found that the coil wire connection was not completely bottomed out onto the coil. I pressed it on firmly and that seems to have stopped the arcing, but the things will still shock you. Is this normal? Or am I missing a ground or connection somewhere? If so, could this be a reason the engine seems to be not firing consistently? Thanks for the help yall.

he coil voltage will go higher with open circuit (that is without a 0.30" gap to arc across).

If you'll run your engine in the dark, you'll be able to see any errant sparks and get a better idea what's
going on.
