Electric fan for extended low speed use?

Noticed the 8n blowning water out the overflow a lot more than normal today while weed spraying.

I built a 3pt boom sprayer, fed with an electric pump. Ran it for about an hour at idle in 1st gear. I put on a new water pump about 6 months ago, new aluminum radiator/cap/hoses with factory fan and fan shroud about 3 months ago. I have it set to idle at 350RPM.

When dragging or plowing at 1,000+RPM, I haven't had any issues. Only started today with the extended idle time.

I was thinking it might be a lack of airflow at the low RPM, and switching to an electric fan would help that. But then I also wonder if the water pump can effectively move water at that speed too?

i have a fergie to20 that is missing the fan shroud. havent found a replacement yet, and the tractor would run hot mowing. put an electric fan off a
chrysler mini van on it, works good no problems. the radiator should be pretty close in size to your ford. here are some pics with the part number

See tip # 35.

Stationary and low speed operation of an N is the reason Ford put a fan shroud on it.

But one of those electric fans mounted on the front of the radiator would work too.

So I should put two fan shrouds on it? Not really sure how that will work...

Figured I would put this out there too. Apparently there are 4 bladed fans and 6 blades fans for these old tractors. 6 blade was obviously for additional cooling. Aside from the shroud situation (gotta have it) the 6 bladed fan might be helpful and you wont need to worry about the electrical nonsense.
