Fuel Flow Rate when unobstructed

This is for Bruce and others who measure this sort of thing. I have seen it over the years, but what is the appropriate fuel flow for an 8n? Pint in a minute? Quart in a minute?

I found your answer in the archives a minute after posting.

Short answer, no it won't fill the pint. Not even close. Pulled the line from the carb and got the same trickle. Some obstruction upstream from the carburetor. Time to switch out sediment bowl/on/off valve.

There is a screen in the valve assembly that you can check once you remove the bowl. There is another screen on the stem of the valve assembly, but that only comes into play when the valve is turned all the way out (reserve mode). Have you tested your flow with the cap off the tank?

I had one that would not flow and it turned that the stand pipe on the sediment bowl was mostly plugged.

I've tested with the cap off as well. Fairly certain it will be in the stand pipe at top of bowl. It's eight or ten years old so it getting plugged wouldn't surprise me.
