Finally shoehorned my '39 9n #546 into the barn to start the tear down. The darwbar assembly appears to be homebrewed two pieces of angle welded together in the center. I guess he never thought that he would ever change the oil in the rear again so he didn't drill out an access hole for the plug. So you have to remover the bracket to change the oil and since all the trumpet to case hole are clear thru and not blind it creates quite a mess

Just a thought....
546 is still early enough in production that it might have gotten a prototype swinging drawbar part slapped on it. I wouldn't automatically consign that piece to the scrap heap unless you are sure it is a home-brewed monstrosity!

Steel or aluminum hood?

Homemade not prototype Will not hit the scrap pile. Will use on another tractor. Hood should be aluminum but was swapped out for steel hood

I happen to like 39's. I have 4 of them. A sometimes poster to these forum (MikeMO) has told me he knows of a couple of aluminum hoods waiting for the rest of the tractor. Some of them have been waiting for several years. Might want to get in touch with him for confirmation and details.

Cool beans buddy! I may have a brass sediment bulb for you. I know where you can get a new (solid state circuit) correct voltage regulator for the 9N-10000-A, 2-Wire/2-Brush B-Circuit generator. FORD did not make a swinging drawbar for the 9N/2N Models as there was no clevis bracket. There was an aftermarket company, Electric Wheel Company of Quincy, IL, who offered a swinging drawbar that was the basis for the later Dearborn Swinging Drawbar with the roller bar and used the 9N-5182 11-Hole drawbar and Stay Bars as well. It used no clevis bracket but had a horizontal flat bar that attached/clamped to the lower lift arms. BTW Wheel Equipment also made the 'Tip-Toe' rear wheels and solid tires for front and rears.
