Ford 2-N / Ferguson TEA-20

I had a chance to compare my new to me "Ford 2-N" to my "Ferguson TEA-20".

2-N...3 speed gear box...2 nd gear....5.1 MPH

Ferguson Tea-20 2 nd gear 4.6 MPH...3 rd gear 6.4 MPH...

JD 261 Grooming Mower......

I'm biased towards the Ferguson....BUT...the Ford 2-N definitely has the perfect speed of 5.1.....

Ferguson is tooooooooo fast in 3 rd..6.4 MPH and 2 nd was 4.6 MPH..

I installed a set of running boards on the 2-N off a parts Ferguson.....

Sooooo the JD Groomer shall stay connected to the 2-N for the rest of the season...

Ambient today 80F...

It appears to me that in the down/mowing position the anti-scalping roller on the front determines mowing height. Am I missing something?
