It's magic cause it can glue stuff together.
Brazing a cracked outlet on the oil reservoir for my friend's Ford tractor.
Kinda old school but it's still an effective way to fix things.
Someone had JB Welded it before. Grrr.

Do you do that with your left hand or your right hand??? ... : > ) Sorry, just replied to the Subject line, didn't see the pictures...I can no longer hold a stick steady due to arthritis. I had Carpal Tunnel surgery on both hands back in 2000 and it did nothing for the problem.

Looks good. I did some coat hanger welding the other day with my torch. Most folks now have never heard of it.

Dad told me that old age ain't for sissy's. I'm just entering old age myself, and can already tell it won't be kind to me.

Yep, gas welding is a great skill, I used to have an acetylene/oxygen set too many years ago to admit and used coat hanger at times. Yes, I like to say, old age isn't for the feeble. But Ultradog, where are your goggles?:)

in the wise words of Doris Day... "The really frightening thing about middle age is the knowledge that you'll grow out of it."

I learned to braze with no goggles many moons ago, but I do wear them these days when brazing. It is a very handy skill to have. I like tghe rods today with the flux already on them.

Oops.
They are laying on the welding table - out of the photo. I did try them but it was a hot, muggy day and they kept fogging up.
I'm just glad no one noticed that my torch tip is dirty in that photo too. Note the forked flame :(
PS, Yes on the coat hangers here too.

You done good... My biggest problem is to remember to get it HOT enoufh are don't be skeered to get it HOT as ell... Hope you keep those brass rods in a PVC pipe that's capped...

oogles & gloves cost money....skin grows back for free! :p

Used mine last night to fix a leaking power steering line on my 4000SU.
Hadn't brazed anything in a while and left it a little lumpy but it din't leak when we tried it.

Eyeballs can be replaced, but they don't work like the originals.
