Nope,I don't see a shift lever on the left side, but that not saying it could have a cable shift on the right side of the dash. Is it a 39?

yes, was my dad's. not me in the photo, my nephew.
my brother, nephew's dad, swears it had a Sherman step up/down.
I can't talk to him any more without him bringing up the subject. here is another photo of it. me and my dad. circa 1960.

I don't see a Sherman lever in that photo. It could have a cable shift with a knob on the dash instead of the lever on the left side of the transmission.

Grandpa bought a used 1946 2n in the late 40's that had a Sherman cable shift.

my brother insists it has/had the lever on the left side of the trans. he has never mentioned a cable set-up.

Did your dad perhaps have more than one N that they're confusing?

before I came into the picture he did. I asked my brother about that but he swears it was the one in the photo.

Don't worry about it.........BIL swears that he remembers the circus elephant picking up his sister....but she has no such memory. Some things we need to just let slide.

I hear that. we only talk a few times a year as he lives a fair distance from me but he seems obsessed with
it. after a few words he starts in about the Sherman. I tell him I don't wasn't to talk about it anymore but he presses on.

he is an older brother and I care for him deeply but he is making it a struggle for me.
