CR rake bearing removal

How do the bearings on the end of the bars that are bolted to the steel disc come apart? I have one bar I need to repair and may
have to take one off. Can heat be applied to the nut for removal without hurting anything?

I just need to remove the cap and bearing assembly as I need to take up some space between the steel tube and the cast piece.

This is the piece I want to remove from the steel disc:

The cast piece has some slop in it where it fits in the square tube. I want to take the play up in it so it is tight again. Figured heat might not be good so I might have to find another way.

I know on my New Holland haybine and my international rake, there is a screwdriver slot in the "bolt" that you are supposed to use to hold it from spinning. Although with years of rust that might be hard to do, but your nut looks fairly new.

I did get it loose. It does have the slot you mentioned. Used a wrench and a dead blow hammer to start it. Haven't tried the other
end yet lol.

Book shows a snap ring in behind that holds bearing in cast bearing cup. Bearing cup just anchored into square tube with bolt.
