I just purchased a g-1000 vista motor has low hours on rebuild with new clutch but always grindes going into gear.tried adjusting linkage did help alittle wondering on specs if some could help thanks vaughn

All three of our Vistas will grind some going into gear. Idling them as slow as possible and waiting a while with clutch depressed will help but they still may grind a little. The 68 with the hydraulic assist that we bought new was even worse, the mechanic told us when we complained about the problem that they all do that, he said the clutch likes to free wheel on those. For some reason it always seemed like 2nd gear was the easiest to go in so we usually go there first to get things stopped inside, then shift to whatever gear we are going to use afterwards. Always have the torque in low to shift too.

Just to add, it does take a while for all of the transmission to stop rotating. I found that out on my G950. Seems like it takes forever to stop to shift smoothly.
