MM ZTU year of manufacture

I was looking at a MM ZTU today that was said to be made in the early 1940s (WWII tractor). However, the tractor is missing the serial number plate. Are there any casting numbers on these early 1940s ZTUs that would indicate the year of manufacture? I would appreciate any help I could get. Thanks!

Wartime models had a five-spoke cast iron steering wheel and full crown fenders(rounded on top). Some had steel serial tags which often rusted beyond recognition.

Well, this Z definitely has the full crown fenders. I think the steering wheel may have been replaced when the tractor was restored years ago; it is a standard 3-spoke rubber coated steering wheel. And maybe that is why the serial tag is missing it may have been so rusted that it was pitched when the tractor was restored. Thanks

Does the engine have a serial tag (left side of engine)? Assuming the engine was not changed, you may be able to track the tractor age from that.
