Getting jugs off Jet star

I started to overhaul a Jet Star 2, got the heads off and cam out, and 6 bolts coming into jugs from below above the cam out, outside bolts holding jugs down, still can't get it to budge. am I missing some bolts that are holding it down??? Thanks for a great forum

You are pulling both jugs at once, aren't you? There is a water passage tube between the 2 jugs.

yes today put the top piece back on and started to lift with the cherry picker. still no movement.
Will let it set and tap on it every day, maybe the wight of the tractor will loosen it up.
thanks

Of course be absolutely sure that all bolts have been removed. I had that problem with a 4 star. Eventually rammed the side of the jugs, toward the top, with the butt end of a heavy hunk of 4 X 6. Gaskets between jug and block were just holding that fast from being together for so many years.

Ensure that you have removed 6 bolts from above the camshaft, behind the side cover plate. Then make sure you've removed the 6 nuts on the outside. I usually stick a pry bar between the jugs and push them apart just a hair to break the gaskets loose. I've had some you had to get rough with to break the gasket seal. You can also hack saw that water pipe in half to make removal easier. It's best to replace it anyhow at the cost of $13.
