Hi Fellas -

I bought this prize jewel a while back from a long time MM family.

Both rear rims are shot from water, but other than that, it is a pretty straight & clean old tractor.

I haven"t ever seen a cab like this, though, that has a sliding door and I can"t find a tag on it. What brand would it be??

Also, I had been thinking it was number 11 of the first set of G900 serial numbers making it an early '67, but when I got it home, I realized it
is 36300011 from the "69 year.

What is the difference in the serial # ranges? Why did they break them up?

I sold one several years ago with that same/similar cab and it was made by Egging in Nebraska. There should be a stamped plate up towards the roof on one of the side panels above the window.

I think those cabs were available for the M670 and G900s in 1968 or 69 weren't they? I think the first G900 cabs were more square up and down. I have some literature pictures I saved but they are on another computer.
 
My 1967 G900LP (33000246) had this cab put on it at the dealership when new. Cab was made by Meade Co. of Meade, Kansas. It was used on other models as well. I like it other than noise levels.
I have heard/read that in 1969 LP powered were given a seperate serial number range.
 
Your tractor appears to be one of the later 69 G-900s with close center hydraulics. Someone one here will know the specifics. But if I remember correctly in Feb of 69 they changed a few things on those tractors hydraulics more inline with the 50 series tractors. You will notice the fenders are different that of a normal M670 G900 or G1000.It also has the 4 hole 50 series wheels, power assist external steering cylinders with the heavy front axle. It will also likely have the high mount alternator than is exposed instead of hid behind the front side tin work and no power sterring pump like a vista. The very very last ones had a three speed torque, making them essentially a g950 with the earlier tin work of g900. It also looks to have different heads and blocks, which is not unusual however 4 5/8 bore blocks and pistons would make the engine a 504 and the tractor basically a close center hydraulic G1000 or g1050 depending on which torque it has. That is why they had the serial number split, that is if I remember correctly.
 
About those Front weights? do they have a part number on them? I've seen them, that shape in Catalogs & photos, but never in person. they are different that the other MM "Banana Weights" ~

Yes that is a Meade, "dealer installed" cab. Not factory, but Genuine "proper" for a MM of that vintage. I had a neighbor that had a M670 3-speed, with that cab. Other than filling Gasoline inside the cab, they are quite nice. Martin

Yes - this cab is pretty neat with the sliding door on one side and a tall "butterfly" opening window on the other that would really let a lot of air in on a hot summer day!

I grew up on a couple of JD4020 lp tractors with Egging cabs - but I couldn't find a mark on this one anywhere...

Howard I think that is the same cab as on my G900-LP.

Hello Howard,
We have a G900lp also. Been a good tractor. Yours has closed center hydraulics so if I am right the earliest would be a 69 with the new MM prefix. They separated the LP from the Gas models. Our M670 Gas has the same cab as you're G900. On purplewave they are selling number 5 G900 Diesel. Engine is number 3.
