165 to 175 rear wheel

Good evening everyone
Its been a trying weekend in the hayfield seems like everything wants to break. My question is we have a Massey 165 gas with 14.9x28 rear tires and a 175 with 16.9x28 rear tires. Well the calcium has ate up one rim and the previous owner replaced it with a regular center and wheel. Well the other rim has gave out and we really could use the tractor the 165 doesnt want to stay running but has a nice set of wheels and tires. Both have the cast centers and power adjust rims. Can I take the 8 bolts out of the center and switch the centers and all? Is it ok to use the smaller tires and wheels on the 175? Or does anyone know where to buy a replacement standard center and wheel?
Sorry I know nothing about these Massey tractors they belong to my 15 year old son and Im just trying to help get him going so he can get his hay jobs done

Thanks for any help

Measure the center hole and bolt circle, if they match, they should work. There will be a bit of ground speed difference between the two tire sizes, but not critical.

Both have the same eight bolt circle size for either cast or steel disc centers. Steel disc centers use different stud nuts than the cast wheels do though, cast use long style stud nuts that you already have on both tractors so they will interchange, no problem.

Unless those bolts have been previously removed and reinstalled with never-seize you might be in for a fight. Expect something to break. Good Luck with it!
