Massey Ferguson 50 and MF 100 - Latest Addition - Questi

Driving home this afternoon and saw a Massey Ferguson Model 50 Diesel with an MF 100 loader (with front pump) and a 6ft Land Pride 6ft rear blade included setting on the side of the road for sale. I knew the seller, after a quick drive around, checking out the tractor, bought it. Ought to be handy having a tractor with a loader on the farm. Bucket looks like a manure fork with a box/bucket fabricated around it.

I already have a MF50 diesel, but know nothing about the MF 100 loader and/or it in combo with the MF50.

What can you tell me about this loader? Under the gray paint is yellow, so I assume it came from a MF construction vs ag tractor? What do you make of the bucket? Surely the original was wider and something more substantial? How much can this loader lift (without breaking the front axle/spindles on the MF50. How many pounds can it lift? Im thinking this loader might be handy to lift a 4x4 round bale (if I ever get a round baler) and perhaps bulk bags of fertilizer in addition to other chores.

Any info and sage advice regarding this loader and its limits with a MF50 are much appreciated.

Thanks!
Bill

The loader is probably a model 101 here are the specs from the manual lift capacity 2100lbs full height, and 3200lbs half height.
I would say to keep things safe 1000lbs shouldn't be a problem considering the loader arms and bucket are probably 600lbs

If it is like the 65 tractor, the bushings on the front axle pivot pins are pretty thin walled. I'd sure check on their condition. It is no fun when the pins wear into the castings.

Thanks for the replies. Ordered operators, parts and service manuals online from Agco.

This loader is a MF 100, but same/similar to a Davis loader. I found a Davis manual on an 8n board as apparently they were used on Ford and Ferguson tractors. I have read and been told MF bought Davis at some point. Davis loaders in this Manual were models 99, 101 and 102. In the manual it showed an optional bucket, as you describe, that has a removable bucket shell, leaving behind forks to allow the loader to be used for manure.

Thanks!
