Diesel Fuel Pump Damper, Massey 1100 Perkins 354

My fuel pump damper was leaking from hole in damper. The pump# is 3262F888. I order a damper 7139_159B and install this damper deleting metal washer(dowty).

Local diesel shop said for my pump# I needed damper 7139-159C.

Physically the two dampers look the same.

Will either damper work correctly?

Can anyone give me an answer on the dampers?

The damper is a common leak problem, the pump will work just fine without it. Cummins and other Perkins applications use a plain head locating bolt instead with NO
trouble.

Perkins 6 cylinder pumps used 7139 159B. I use head bolt 7123 261 B WITH the spacer washer, or 7123 261 Q WITHOUT the washer.
