Massey 65 features I do not know, please help explain

Hello, on my massey 65 there are a few things I do not understand what they do and how to take advantage of them. The first pic refers to the three tangs located just below the top link.

The second refers to the lower link hydraulic actuating arms. There is a tang on the bottom of the hinge point and also a through arm hole just a short way back of the hinge point. I hope the pics are ok, just curious why they are there? thanks for all those who solve my puzzle. george

The lift arm holes are for front cultivator lift brackets, and also for center mount sickle lift brackets. The rear three if I recall are for some hitch stabilizer
brackets which are seldom seen anymore.

Three tabs are for mounting backhoe and such.

There is a 'hinged' long pin that goes through the tabs.
Then you have 'L'-shaped bars/straps that sit in the two pockets and go down to the strip hitch to fix the hitch from swaying -- like a rigid version of the sway chains.

I attached a picture showing this. We never had the additional bottom link under the trailer ball shown but the two 'L' brackets were used. You'd want them if you are running a hay baler so it stays in line and doesn't wander with the chains.

You didn't say if yours is gas or diesel. If you don't have an operator's manual you can download a copy of one for a MF65 Diesel at this link: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1184471/Ferguson-Mf-65.html . If yours is gas you should get the proper manual, however this one will give you info about controls and attachments like the stay links and how they are installed. The stay links are shown on page 49 of this manual being installed with the straight drawbar which is used with the 3 point hitch.

As for pulling a baler, or such equipment, I would recommend using the standard swing drawbar (on page 16), mounted under the differential housing, not the straight drawbar on the 3 point hitch, especially if the equipment uses the PTO for power. The straight drawbar moves the load away from the tractor and the stay links could contact a PTO shaft, on drawbar pull equipment, when turning corners which is dangerous.

There are some implements that use those attaching mounts
and also stabilizers for the 3 point. Never pull anything from
those points on the tractor, never.
