Hi I have a 1981 MF 245 orchard tractor with a Perkins engine. Alternator has a parasitic draw and I need to replace, but
I can't figure which one to buy. I've called several place, everyone has a few options, but no one is sure which is right.
Any advice is appreciated.

Yes looks the same, but this one has 3 wires (battery + 2 prong plug). When I search that one it has only a single wire.

I have a Delco 10SI, with that red-insulated connector and also the twin-plugs on top. Mine worked for many years and charged just fine, and I had nothing plugged into the top twin-plug thing. Then one year it quit charging. I was able to buy a diode assembly that clicked into the twin-plug thing, from a guy named charlieU, at Charlie Uthke, Charlie's Repair, 22195 State Hwy 56, Austin, MN? 55912 [email protected]. Works perfectly.
Highly recommended.

Delco 10SI. Check out an alternator for a 1981 Chevy pickup with a 350 at your local parts store, it should match yours. Look closely at the alternator on the OD of the case right below where the adjusting bolt goes, that is where the ID numbers often are.

Thank you all. I went back to Napa today. Seems like the other guy I had spoken with didn't know how to search their system correctly. Anyway I now have an alternator that appears identical.

Had an Autozone power steering pump put into wife's Honda, it locked up at 70 mph on I-35 going around Kansas City, never again!
