Massey Ferguson 230

Just traded a Ford 8n for a Massey Ferguson 230 (gas) Would like to find out anything i can about the tractor! I came out on top! but don't know a lot about Massey Ferguson.

I've got one! I'm traditionally a Farmall guy and later in life, a Moline guy. I acquired this 230 a few years ago and use/play with the Massey more than any other tractor I own. There are some things I don't care for but for the most part, an extremely handy and useful tractor. Your 230 is much like your 8N but with power steering, live hydraulics and PTO, and 12 volt alternator. Not wild about where the battery sits, I've moved mine. Gasses and acids from the battery will take out the gauges and the fuel tank - not a good program. Fuel line route is odd and can cause trouble.

I believe the 230 came only with the Continental Z145 4 cylinder gas engine. Some of the other small 200 series like the 230 could have had either the Continental 4 cylinder gas, or the Perkins 3 cylinder gas engine.

The 230 could also have had the Perkins 3 cylinder diesel.
