Massey Ferguson 135 three point hitch

My 3 point does not work properly. I painted the tractor and during painting I removed the bolts from the quadrant lever plates. One of the levers
rotated downward. At that point I realized that removing the plates would rquire more disassembly than I wanted to do. I rotated the handle that
fell down back into place and replaced the bolts. When I finished painting and assemling the tractor I cranked up the motor and tried to move
the 3 point hitch upward but it would not move, it did however move with the draft lever. Needless to say the hitch is not properly functioning. I
am thinking that when the left lever rotated downward, something must have disengaged inside the hydraulic lift cover. I am hoping one of you
could give some insight on that, I dread the thought of having to remove the lift cover not knowing much about it.

Hello Jed, does your tractor have Pressure Control? The inner quadrant is longer than the outer if so. If you have allowed the Position Control lever to rotate beyond its normal range then you will have almost certainly caused an internal problem. Not damage, but have lost the correct positioning between the Position Control lever and the internal PC frame. It will be necessary to remove the hyd cover and withdraw the quadrant and support assembly to reset the positioning. It is absolutely essential that you have a workshop manual very preferably the genuine MF one. Let us know how you get on.

Thank you for your reply. I am not sure if I have pressure control or not, I do know it has an independant pto (not engaged using the clutch) and it has the multi power lever. I added a photo and as you can see, the handle on the draft lever has been broken, I have to use the bolt with the spring on it to move the lever. I do have a shop manual and I have reviewed the steps for removing the lift cover, im not looking forward to that endeavor but the cost at a tractor shop could be $1000

Hi, your tractor does not have Pressure
Control as both quadrants are the same
length. You must follow the removal
instructions to the letter particularly
about removing the roller before trying to
remove the cover. You will find other posts
of mine on here detailing how the pump
lever should respond when the control
levers are moved. Understand this action
now and it will be easier later. Let us
know when you are ready to remove the
cover. You will need a lifting device,
chain blocks or an engine hoist.

I was sure hoping I would not need to pull the lift cover, I will search for the discussions from you on the subject. I have tools and a chain hoist, as long as I have good instruction I believe I can succeed. I read through the process in the manual but for some reason I cant wrap my head around what they are saying.

By chance do you know additional massey ferguson tractors that use the very same hydraulic system? I have tried searching the internet for step by step instructions to no avail. I thought that if other models used the same hydraulic system and lift cover I could expand my search.

The is a website I found that indicated a video was made but there was no information I could find, I sent a message to their contact us page but received no reply.
