My low $ z134 oil system modification.

I'm not a big fan of the Continental bypass oil filtering system so for my 2135. I came up with a "experimental" low budget full flow oil filter system so that all the critical engine parts get filtered oil. I used a common Ford engine oil filter, and bunch of fittings, and what not I had left over from other projects.

So far I'm very happy with how it works, and since this tractor will be used for mainly bush hogging I'm going to make a bolt on shield to protect the filter, and hoses (the mesquite trees are bad around here).

Good job on the oil line plumbing
Just be watchful of the that low hanging oil filter, if you are in the woods,
Most thin skin oil filters like that are mounted higher up on the tractor motor.

I may just be un-lucky or rough on my equipment.

I had a small tree trunk go up in the hole below my crankshaft pulley and busted the pulley into pieces.

good job.,

(quoted from post at 04:56:30 10/23/14) Looks very professional, what effect did it have on
oil pressure?

Thanks, having built/worked on a lot of racecars I've had plenty experience on "plumbing". As far as oil pressure it right where it should be for the z134. I have several different springs for the adjustable by pass valve, if the oil pressure was too high you unscrew it, and replace the spring with a weaker one, or a stronger spring if there is not enough oil pressure. Takes only a couple of minutes to change the spring to adjust the pressure (beats having to pull the oil pan to do it).

Thanks, I am currently making a brush guard for the grill, a bolt on guard to protect the oil filter, and hoses. I also have a old tractor cab my dad built many years ago, all the glass was broken out of it except for the front windshield. I'm going to replace all the broken glass on the cab with expanded metal to keep from myself from being "bush wacked" (being bush wacked by mesquites is no fun!).
