I am fixing my great great grandfather's model b and I came across this part that I have no idea what it is.

(quoted from post at 17:36:30 09/25/21) I second what ET said. Behlen was a manufacture, not sure if they were the only one?
How would I use it when I get the tractor running?

Didn't M&W make a road gear for the four speed Deeres? A farmer here had a 1940 A that had an add on 5th gear. I'm sure he told me it was M&W. He bought the
tractor brand new on his 20th birthday.

It's a 2-speed over drive. Put the main
shifter in neutral, and use the black
knob to select either low overdrive or
high overdrive.. Hang on- in high over
you could hit 20-25 mph instead of the
normal 5 mph. Tight steering (no slop)
is critical.
