Looking for repair service for my B

I have a late model B that I need the clutch pulley repaired. The hole in the operating sleeve that fits over the drive pin is wallowed out to the point I can't adjust the clutch any more. I need someone who can remove that operating sleeve and weld the hole back into spec to fit the drive pin without and side to side play. I live in upstate NY, so anyone within 100 miles of Binghamton would be great. Also if you know of a salvage yard that has late model B's , that info would help also since I would consider buying the whole clutch pulley assembly if it had a good operating sleeve.

Well, funny you mentioned him. I just bought an assembly for an late model B that he had advertised on his site. It arrived today , it was for a A and not a B. So now I have to spend the time and energy to pack it up and ship it back.

Good to know. Just a few years ago my local John Deere dealer still had some older (my age) mechanics that I am sure could handle that repair in their shop but even they no longer are working there. Would not hurt to check your local dealer.

Hopefully someone local will guide you to a good bone yard/parts dealer, after all deere made a lot of model B's.

A & L Parts Flat St Penn Yan, NY 315-536-0543. Parts out JD 2 cylinder tractors. M-F. Less than 100 miles away. Probably take I 86 to Corning then NY Rte 14 north due to the Finger Lakes.

Accidents can happen, but I have bought part there several times and always been very happy. I've got stuff there I was unable to obtain anywhere else.

I just took a clutch of a 48 B parts tractor in Minnesota. Was a working tractor till the barn fire. May cost over $100 to ship though. Ron MN

That would be the long way from Bingo. Get off at Elmira Heights/rte 14N go thru Watkins, get on 14A north of Watkins, go thru Penn Yan to Benton Center, turn right go to next left turn, and he is on left just before the next ? crossroad. I come in from the other end so memory is fuzzy on which cross road it is.
