Crazy Price

I'm working on a 3020. On the rear
corners of the hood there is a
reinforcing plate the the hood attaching
bolt screws into. Basically a 1x3 plate
with 3 threaded holes in it. For a
package of two John Deere wants $158. I
about fell over. I guess I'll be making
one.

Deere prices seem crazy at times. A small piece or spring will cost you an arm and leg while a bigger part is less. I thought it was only Deere until I started working on IH tractors. There stuff also seems high.NH parts used to be reasonably cheap until they got bought out a couple times. Guess it s the cost ow owning older tractors and equipment but at least we don't have payments.

Actual photo of 150$ worth of fiat parts if you don’t know who that is they own case ih and new holland .

The part is fixing to go obsolete according to the price. Deere doesn't have many left and the outrageous price is a write off when they toss them. Ford does the same thing.

Agreed some things are very out of line .However last week I needed two gaskets for the engine oil pump on a John Deere 1937 model A. First thought would make the gaskets; not having the correct gasket material on hand I called Hudson Deere. Price was close to six dollars each , and in stock. The gaskets were delivered to a Deere local drop box less than two miles from my place the same evening.
