JD 300 Industrial

Went to an auction yesterday hoping to buy a JD 300 diesel tractor that went for 3600 but I was outbid. It looked really great condition, turf tires and everything but the engine was full of diesel fuel and it wouldn't start. 4000 hours I might have gone higher if it had Ag tires. 1979 model, 3PH. roll bar, and canopy. kind of wish I had gone higher but too late now. What is the opinion on here?

Are you sure it was not a 1969? They are basically the industrial version of a 1020. Without it running I would not have wanted to pay much more. There could be other problems that saying it will not start would cover up. Tom

You would be happier with that money down and make low interest payments on a new 4X4 tractor in that size range

I don't know about the year but it was listed as a 1979. From looking at Tractor data it seems it must have been a 1969.

Don't need another 4WD tractor, I have 2 now. Just liked the condition of this one. I think the fuel in oil would have been an easy fix.
