Trying to identify the circular part in the photo. It is located on the upper water pipe and has a flared fitting on top. It's not in the parts book and I haven't seen it on any other G. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Mike

I collect John Deere G's from early to late models. I have not noted anything similar to the photo. It appears the tractor was being used on LP. Based on the amount the head has been cut to increase the compression. Was the tractor set-up for LP?

Ran on LP at one time. Has the carb been drilled on the top for a fitting? If so a sure sign it was. Might have high compression pistons in it. I had one at one time that was an LP conversion and it was a really sweet running G on gas.

Looks like a propane pressure regulator. That upper water pipe must have been part of a kit. It looks machined for the regulator, not a factory part.

I think all G's were made for tractor fuel. I often thought with higher compression and run on gas, they would be a powerful tractor.
