What size brush hog for 3020 diesel?

Got an old John Deere 6' pull type that's pretty worn out. I'd like to get a bigger one, but not sure what's not to much of a strain on the tractor.

Your 6' mower would be the best size, I would say. When you get in tall and thick grass. it will put a real load on it. BTDT

Id say 8 ft be decent ,neighbor got a 10 ft n its

9 H.P. per foot so 8ft. should be about max.I have a compact 4720 56H.P. and it handles a 6ft fine.

Thanks for the replies, I'll keep an eye out for an 8'. Would like it a bit wider than my 6' to clear tire width.

I would get one wider than the wheels.

We use a 7 foot Bush Hog 307 pull type with no problems.

That might be similar to what I have, mines a gyromor, pull type, wheels out to each side of it, 6'. The clutch pack in front of the gear box gets to slipping pretty good sometimes, once it starts slipping, I'm done cutting...

In very heavy grass a 6 is almost too much for my 630 but most of the time its just a moderate load.
