1961 4010 battery ground cable

We need to replace the ground battery cable on a 1961 4010 diesel. When we bought it, it came with a cable from the bolt on the cable between the two batteries to the
transmission. The replacement cables appear to be straps that go on a battery post to the transmission bolt. Also I have read that there is an inline fuse in the cable.
What should we use? What gauge should it be?

Those two straps were replaced with a cable connecting
the pos post of one battery to the neg post of the other.
The fused wire went from that same cable on the left battery
to the side of the tran case.
Look it up on early model 4020 might be easier.

D- Thanks for your reply. I looked up the parts and came up with ar51395 This appears to be a regular cable not a fused wire. What part number am I looking for? ar51395 seems to be about 14 inches long and gauge 2. If that is true I can get one but where and what fuse do I put in?

4010's originally came with individual ground "straps" from the (-) side of the RH battery to the chassis and from the (+) post on the LH battery to the chassis.

Yours has apparently been updated by an official update or a previous owner to the later style cable that crosses over between the two batteries and is only connected by a fuse or a fusible link to the chassis.

This was done for safety reasons (not so many random fires) and also should include a panel with two circuit breakers mounted to it at the starter.

If you need the updated 4020-style cable that crosses over between the batteries and does NOT connect to the chassis, the part number is AR40409, and the fusible link wire to the chassis is R39713.

If I understand right, part number AR40409 is a regular cable between the 2 batteries. I see I can get them at Amazon but not
until after Christmas. Can anyone tell me what gauge that cable is so I can get one from Napa so I can get the tractor running?
