Thanks so much for sharing this most interesting brochure. As a retired Ont. Extension Agent, with crops degree and JD lover it has a lot of special meaning. Most interesting to see in '47 the concern for manure storage, nutrient loss! Can't imagine the controls to operate that "backhoe". So many share so much great information on this most informative forum. Now I must get out and prep the '50 B front rims for paint! Richard in Ontario.
 
I have one of those John Deere #26 rear loaders. Not too bad to run ? 2 hand levers 1 runs the boom lift up and down. The other runs the bucket out on the track. These are cable operated so you just tighen up the clutches with the lever to wind the cable up. Then gravity brings it down.
For swing you have foot pedals.One on each side. one goes to one side the other the opposite side.
