John Deere black cylinder

I have a John Deere black cylinder on a disc hooked to my 4020, and it will not retract. It goes up and only retracts about 2 inches. I
disconnected the hoses to see if it was the tractor valve or cylinder. With the hoses unhooked from the tractor you can push in the ball
on the end of either hose and there is no pressure on it, even with it holding up the disc. Never had this happen before.

It's not touching the stop, but I could try to move the rod and see if that helps. Thanks for an idea.

Before you waste a lot of time replace the hose ends/couplers. I have had them fail and not let oil flow correctly. I have taken them apart afterwards and could not see what was wrong with them. Age means nothing. The first time I ever ran into this was on a brand new JD loader. The customer raised the loader and it would not come down.

I checked the depth stop, can't find anything wrong. I did replace the hoses and ends just before it quit working. I guess I will take them apart tomorrow. Thanks for the ideas.
