I have seen a set of hollensworth inserts in a D . I
have looked on line and don't see much info on them .
Has anybody ever seen any for an unstyled A ? How much
do they help? How thick are they ? I am working on a A
that has a heisler head on it that we put on ten years
ago . Was never impressed with the power output , I
think it just got louder is all . So I'm gonna put the
stock head back on it . I could install a set of m & w
pistons it is already .045 over . But it don't burn any
oil but I'd like a little more compression . Almost
thinking of making some rings with set screws and trying
them . Any thoughts ?

I have a pair for a Model B hanging on the wall. I would think a person could turn a pair out on a lathe. I don't know what you would need set screws for. There is a lip on them so they can't slip down into the cylinder. The spark plug is what keeps them from turning, you have to use a longer spark plug. They do increase your compression by a lot. The unstyled A block has a step in the block so did a our 39 B . Just wonder about the longer reach plug . Probably have to notch for valve clearance .
