520 hydraulics

After buying my uncles 520 at auction the remote hydraulics don't work. I know I was the last one to use them and it worked fine. It has plenty
of oil it just whines when trying to raise the dump wagon when it is empty. I don't use the hydraulics much, but I want it to work when I need
them. Thanks.

if pump wasn't engaged i don't think it would whine. is the screw that switches between single action and dual action cylinders set right for your application? one hose would be single action. is this the same wagon you used it on last time it was used?

Was it last used with a single or dual cylinder? I'm assuming the dump wagon is a single action... did you try the lever both ways?

Our Deere dump waton was plumbed double acting to ensure the hydraulic reservoir did not run empty .

Yes same wagon. I am going to check to make sure it wasn't changed to dual acting cylinder.

Single. The only thing this tractor used the hydraulics for was the dump wagon. I don't the he used it on the grinder but at his age he might have switched it to dual. I am going to hook it to the haybine and see what happens.

If it was hooked up to a single hose, you put the hose in the correct coupler? And tried the lever both directions? Sorry to ask the simple questions, but it is best to get that stuff out of the way first....
