Back in the mid 60's through late 80's I installed/supervised installing many rear wheel weights on JD tractors. I don't remember seeing the weights with the round center hole only the ones with funny shaped center hole. I wonder if rd hole weighs are aftermarket?

Top ones with the round hole in the center are from the 50's. First number series tractors. Had those on my 1956 60. Might be wrong but I think the bottom one was originally for the New Gen tractors. Axle casting changed on the New Gen's.

The round hole weight was introduced with the "R" tractor and was used until the oval hole version was introduced with the first numbered series. The later "z" weight was introduced to allow more wrench clearance for wheel tread adjustment on tractors with more than two wheel weights installed. Mike

There are round hole as pictured, oval shaped hole,The Z weight and then they made a larger center Z weight that would actually allow its removal with a nine bolt dual wheel hub on.I would have to measure to give correct dimensions. The Zs with smaller hole look right on NewGen.It would surprise you how many don't know how to install them correctly . I have seen JD weights on IH tractors and IH on JD tractors of course they really look different.

There are quite a few different versions of the A3404R weights, but all stamped that number. Started with round center hole, then to just oval (no z). Then the z style. The earlier Z style had a sharper corner on the handhold than the later "small center hole" ones. Then they came with the larger center hold to fit the larger hub in I believe either the 30 (generation II) or 40 series, and they all have the more rounded edge on the handholds like the later z above.

(quoted from post at 22:05:24 08/26/16) Then they came with the larger center hold to fit the larger hub in I believe either the 30 (generation II) or 40 series, and they all have the more rounded edge on the handholds like the later z above.

I thought the later style(larger hole) rear Z weight part number was R61524 not A3404R
