L15 One and Two Way Plow Manual for L Series Tractors

Has anyone ever seen one of these manuals? The manual is not in the usual format of other implement manuals of the day. My Grandfather had one of these plows on his tractor and this was with other documentation for the tractor. The manual is dated 12-19-1940 on the back cover.

Also note what appears to be an experimental muffler on the tractor shown on the front cover.

I have one of those mounted on my LA right now. Well only the right side. I do not have the left hand side plow. I believe the plow was not made by Deere like the typical L/LA plow was. This one was made by the Syracuse Chilled Plow Co. IIRC. The plow does a good job. Plowed some bean and corn stubble this weekend at a plow day and it did great. I have been plowing our cover crop of rye under with it the past week and it does well with that as well.

Any chance you would be willing to e-mail me a copy of that manual? I have the front page but never found the rest in the literature I got when I bought the tractor.

(quoted from post at 12:37:56 05/02/16) I have a two way plow but have never put it on tractor ? how common are the two way plows ?

I don't believe they are very common, certainly much less than the LA2 plow.

I have always known this as the L18 plow and not the L15. I have no idea if there are any differences or why the designation was changed. The link below is from an auction for one of these plows. One of the photos shows the front cover of the L18 manual.

I would agree they are more rare. Last full set I saw sell from a website had an asking price of $1,200 for a full left and right set up.

I have a pdf of the L18 manual. If you look on the last page which is a parts page it lists both the L15 and the L18 plows. The L15 was a smaller plow, 12 inch I think. I have a right side L15 but the lift arm has been modified for some reason. I would love a copy of this manual if you are willing to email it to me.

My L15 manual has references to both 12" and 14" plows but there is no parts list...

I tried to email the pdf but your post shows "No Email" on it...

Looking at the L18 manual I have it says at the top "L15 Plow was discontinued in January 1941". It then shows part numbers for L15 two way and one way, and L18 two way and one way. I wrote myself a note that the L15 is a 12 inch plow and the L18 is a 14 inch plow. Not sure where I got that info from.
My email is [email protected] send me an email and I will send you the copy I have as a pdf file.
