12 v generator

When I was switching an AC over to 12V, I tried a gen. off a two cyl. JD. Couldn't get it to work. Then the gen. guy found a chart with all the different variations of tractor generators. Turned out that the AC used a slower speed gen! You would think if it fit, pulleys would have been arranged to make a generator more universal.
 
Sorry Dave, but that is a maybe. Early styled A's were 6 volt, but starting in 47 or 48 with the late
styled model, A & G got 12 volt, but the B stayed with 6v to the end.
As to the original post, a GM/Delco gen will work with the proper matching regulator.

YES, I agree, a 12 Volt Delco Class A Generator will work on a Deere Class A (which they were) 12 volt tractor (later A's) provided you have a matching 12 Volt Voltage Regulator.
