336 tieing issue

when 336 jd baler has 4 rolls of strings in basket, and tied to the next full one, it wont stay tied when it goes through. Not sure if breaking knot or what. bale comes out untied.
any ideas or suggestions

are you saying the knot joining the new ball of twine is not passing troigh the system??

Yes, if the left side is going to new roll, it does not tie or breaks.
No problems after that.
Same for right side.

Check back side of needle for a groove.

Maybe silly question, but are you tying the strings together with a tight square knot with the ends cut off as short as possible?

Do this ^, then place the knot between your hands and rub together several times, then pull the knot tight again. The whole idea is to get the knot as small and smooth as possible.
