60LP idles but won't high idle

This machine has been sitting for 30+ years, and was finally started last Monday 8-18-14 off of a 30# propane tank via HP hose. Runs good at idle but when you go to throttle up, the engine just bogs and dies. The throttle linkage basically goes from idle to wide open with the slightest movement of the controls. Could the governor be stuck?

Sounds to me like its starving for fuel. I have seen them do that on a small tank like that running on just vapor. Try filling the tank to increase the pressure and the turn the tank upside down once its started and see if it helps...

your out of fuil gauges arent always right put your figure in the middle of the fill valve and push in if it stays in your out of fuil no pressure.

I agree. lack of fuel. The cylinder tank hook-up was just to get them back to the nurse tank, although as Hayrack said, you can turn the tank upside down to get a "wet" line.

I have a '54 50 I'm bringing back to life. Hasn't run in 20-25 years per owner's son. Which probably means 30. Just got the plugs out yesterday, and they look like they were put in and run yesterday. As soon as I get the brake free, going to pull the valve cover and try to turn the motor.

WE thought about it being fuel but weren't too sure seeing we are not edumacated on propane other than the basics. What's the purpose of a liquid line valve and a vapor line valve on the bottom of the tank leading to the strainer?
