My mechanic has just finished putting in new pistons, rings into my 7710 motor.
after doing a compression test he found one cylinder to be low compression.
Once that piston was popped out, it was found to have classic signs of ether damage.(cracked piston)Previous owner had began to use ether in cold weather when
he had problems starting.
As it turns out we got the starter rebuilt and found that it could turn the motor much more quickly and didnt need ether. Also has block heater plus excess fuel
button.
Now my question is, Can i use a gasket sealer to seal oil pan or should i just get a new gasket from New Holland.
New Holland wants over a $100cdn for the pan gasket.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
