Jubilee differential filler cap on real tight

I had to replace my pto shaft which is complete. The previous owner painted the filler cap on. What size socket will fit the bolt head? I don?t want to strip it with an adjustable wrench or plumbers wrench. I?ll probably have to use a lot of force. It?s on there mighty tight

before you try to loosen it take a knife and cut away the paint next to the plug. spray some wd-45 fluid on it and let it set over night. take hammer and rap the top of the plug a couple times and I suspect it will come off fairly easy. make sure your wrench is fairly tight. hold the wrench tight and use the hammer to hit the end of the wrench.

there was so much paint that it filled the void where it screwed on like it was welded with paint. I eventually got it by using a box cutter to cut thru most of it and then torching it to get it hot. a 17/16 socket did the trick with a breaker bar.
