1974 5000 diesel 8spd. Ok Ford pros I need your help. This 5000 had a loader on it before I got it. My goal is to put 2 sets of remote hyd on the back to operate implements. I know I will have to install a dual remote control on top of the deck under the seat. It has one hyd hook up under the seat now. I guess that went to the hyd valves for the loader that was on it. My question is when I pull out the black knob under the seat the 3 pt hitch will not go up or down. If I move the 3 pt hitch control all the way up it pulls the engine down and there is pressure to the one hyd hook up under the seat. What is going on? Will I not be able to use the 3pt hitch and the remote hyd at the same time? Thank you for your help!

You cannot use the 3-point and remotes at the same time. The black knob is called an ASC (aux service control) valve, and is designed to do exactly what is was being used for in the past, such as supplying a loader valve through the coupler in your pic. Installing a double spool remote valve will essentially block that port off. It was basically a poor man's remote valve, activated with the 3-point lever.

Thank you. Ok that gives me another question. When it had a loader on it would that one valve in my photo give the loader up and down pressure?

Yes, as long as it's used to supply another control valve that supplies pressurized oil to both sides of a double acting cylinder.

Remove that ASC valve, get a hydraulic valve adapter to supply the loader valve and stack a dual remote valve on top of the adapter.
This will allow the use of all functions without having to select ether 3 point hitch or remotes.
