FORD 800 FORD 801 Serial numbers

I would like to get the correct model of my tractor. Destroked 450 said his dad had a 800 ford. I ordered a Guage set and that is why it has a amp Guage. My serial number is 20886 Model 851-L. It is a gas model and I have reworked most of it with over $900.00 worth of parts from yesterday tractor and it has been repainted. I bought a new wire harness and I have had a lot of trouble wiring amp and switch. It has new alternator-- new 12 volt battery-- new 6 volt solenoid and I am going tomorrow to buy the Kappa IC14SB coil. I wish I knew about a resistor between coil and distributor but I do not. Any way I hope some one has knowledge about serial numbers and can say for sure if I have a 800 Ford or 801 Ford . I would like to know when it was manufactured. THANK EVERYONE FOR BEING UNDERSTANDING ABOUT MY LACK OF KNOWLEDGE.

As Kirk said it is an 801 series model 851 which means it has a 5 speed transmission with out live PTO
 

Dad's was a 56 model 850, gas, 5 spd, trans pto
Mine is a 62 model 881D, diesel, SOS trans, live 2 spd pto, power steering.

What does the L stand for in 851L

I grew up driving dad's 850, but have been using post 65 -000 series for the past 35+ years, have had the same 4000 for over 25 years.
Found the 881 in a barn a couple years ago, it had been there for over 20 years, 601 side mount picker that came with it had been setting in a barn for over 30 years, picked corn with it last fall.

The "-L" at the end of the model number means that when it left the factory it was configured for the engine to run on LP gas (propane). It was basically the same engine as the gasoline engine but it had a propane fuel delivery system instead of a gas tank and carburetor. If yours is currently configured to run on gasoline with a gas tank and carburetor, then it was converted some time after it left the factory.
